An Important Note From The Councilman:

Misfits Poker League operates under the idea that offering free bar poker is a benefit to the venues that host games and the players that enjoy the game, comradery, and competition amongst friends.

There is a delicate balance in understanding how to operate such a league. Without players, you don't have a league. Conversely, without venues, you can't have a league.

I'd like to address the latter, our partner venues.

When we approach each owner of a venue, it's our hope and goal that we can help that venue increase its revenue while also allowing us the opportunity to increase league revenue.

It may seem a bit obvious, but Misfits Poker League and our partner venues want nothing more than to make more money than they spend.

By making more than we spend as a league, we can focus on giving back to the players in many different ways, such as tournament buy-ins, league tournaments, TOC prizes, etc.

When our partner venues make more than they spend, they are more likely to give back to the league in the form of prizes, tournament space, and most importantly, a consistent place to play a weekly league game.

The bottom line is when the venues don't make money, league players lose out on places to play and potential prize offerings. Quite simply, there's no positive endgame for the players.

That being said, there are three important things that you, as league members, can do to benefit all the members of the Misfits Family. Here they are:

#1. Grow the League. Spread the word with people you know. Use the social media posts, the blog, and the website. Share with your friends and encourage them to come out for a night. The more active players we have at all our venues, the better it is for all of us.

#2. Choose 1 or 2 venues a week and support them 100% by purchasing a meal, an appetizer, and most definitely a drink, even a mocktail, maybe even a meal to go after you are done playing. If you are into gaming, most of our venues have bar-top gaming.

#3. Give a referral. If you've found a venue that you like that you think would be suitable to host a weekly league game, let us know!

And that's it! That's what you can do to help.

Now for the real talk.

Many of you already show up, make purchases from the venue, and do so frequently. For that, we are grateful. We need more people like you!

We are not asking anyone to spend beyond their means. This would defeat the entire purpose of offering free poker. I would rather have someone play once a week and be able to fully support the venue with purchases of food and beverage, rather than trying to spread themselves thin and play 3-4 times a week with less support going to the venues. This is also why growing the number of active players we have is so very important.

This is a group effort. We must all work together and do our part to make this league great. I can promise you that Rob, myself, and the dealers are dedicated and doing everything in our power to keep this league strong, but we need your help. If you don't know where to start, start by doing option #2 listed above. Believe me, your efforts won't go unnoticed by us and our partner venues.

Thank you to everyone for helping and showing your support. The Misfits Poker League, our partner venues, and the entire Misfits Family can be stronger than ever as we continue to grow in 2025! I look forward to it, and I'll see you on the felt!
